On October 18, 2024, at 4:52pm, Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to rescue a person and dog who had fallen down a hill. Parkview EMS and Oakmont VFD crews swiftly made contact with the patient, provided stabilization, and deployed rope lowering systems. Crews then lowered 100 feet to reach the patient and with Rosedale 222’s assistance, safely carried them down the remaining 150-foot slope. The patient was transferred to EMS and reunited with their dog. Excellent coordination and teamwork were displayed by all participating.
