On 5/26/2025 during the Memorial Day parade at 10:26am the Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Verona Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a working structure fire with possible entrapment in Springdale Township. 216EN arrived on scene within 7 minutes of dispatch with 216TK, 285EN, 216RQ, 111RE and 315EN shortly behind. With very difficult terrain, crews deployed multiple hand lines/supply lines and within 25 minutes the fire was under control. Neighbors were able to get victim out and with help of responders taken back to the top of the hill and to the hospital for evacuation.
At 11:25am crews were dispatched to 5th and Hulton in Oakmont for a structure fire. Members were able to quickly return from the structure fire in Springdale and with the assistance of Verona Volunteer Fire Department and Oakmont Borough Police Department it was found to be a small fire on the floor. Fire was extinguished very quickly which caused very minimal damage to the property.
Great job to all members and mutual aid departments for an extremely busy day!!
