On 12/12/2024 at 4:59pm The Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department was called to a building fire in the 400 Block of Center Ave. in Verona Borough. Oakmont 216 Engine got on scene within minutes of dispatch and initiated fire attack. Oakmont 216 Truck arrived just after the engine and completed a primary search of the front apartments. Oakmont responded with 17 Firefighters and assisted Verona Station 285 with fire control and extinguishment. All crews did an amazing job working for multiple hours in freezing temperatures!
Special thanks to Logans Ferry Heights Volunteer Fire Department for standing by in our station to answer calls in the area while crews were gone.
