On January 31, 2026, at 1:04 a.m. the Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist the City of New Kensington with a residential structure fire. Oakmont crews provided support with interior fire attack, ventilation, and overhaul operations. As seen in the images below, all personnel on the fireground faced significant challenges due to the extreme cold weather conditions, with temperatures plummeting to -14°F and equipment freezing.
While the truck and squad were in New Kensington at the fire, other members staffed the engine and rescue to respond to any other calls.
A great job to all companies involved especially with the challenging weather conditions!e i
