Our 2024 Summer Reading Program for all ages runs from May 25th – August 9th
Fill out a registration form at the front desk. Then pick up a Bingo sheet and play all summer! Bingo sheet prize winners will be drawn on August 9th.

COMING UP THIS WEEK AT THE LIBRARY…
Monday, July 8th
Chess For Ages 8-19 with Craig and Adam, 3p-5p
The class will start with a lesson and then allow time for live practice between Craig/Adam and the students. No experience necessary. All experience levels are welcome!
NO REGISTRATION NECESSARY! Stop in anytime during class hours! Sessions will consist of: 1. Introducing the pieces & how they move 2. Opening moves & setups 3. Controlling the center & the mid game scenarios 4. End game, checkmating & proper chess etiquette. Chess as an exercise in problem solving

Tuesday, July 9th

Wednesday, July 10th
– Pre-K Story Time, Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Join us for a fun story time recommended for children ages 3-5.

– Book Bingo for Adults and Families, 2p-3p
Play Bingo, win books! We’ll have a variety of books and small prizes for winners to choose from. Come relax and have fun! Book Bingo is for adults and families – no unattended children, please, but family groups are welcome. Dates: June 12 and 26, July 10 and 24, and August 7.

Thursday, July 11th
– MakerSpace Open Hours
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

– Baby Lapsit with Miss Ashley: Every Thursday, 10:30 a.m.
Calling all babies – join us for a program of stories, singing, rhyming and more. Baby Lapsit is for children newborn- 24 months and focuses on socialization and vocabulary development.

– Read S’More Book Club, 2p-3p
This program supports the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques. This program does not teach kids to read. This program is meant to introduce children to awesome books for emerging readers, to get them excited about books and reading, and to help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers. * Registration required for this event.

Saturday, July 13th
– Adult Chess Club
No experience necessary! No registration! Learn chess and have fun. Club meets every other Saturday. Check Upcoming Events calendar on OakmontLibrary.org website to see scheduled Saturdays.
