Update from Oakmont Borough
WINTER OPERATIONS UPDATE: 12:00 Noon, January 26, 2026

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate through this winter storm event. Oakmont Street Department started their emergency response at 4:30 AM Sunday morning plowing roads, focusing on the main artery roadways through Oakmont, Hulton Bridge, and hill roads and intersections and haven’t stopped yet.

Now that the storm has passed, starting today the focus is moving towards roadway cleanup. This includes additional plowing to open intersections and treating all roadways with rock salt. This will take the time to complete.

As a reminder, the NO PARKING restrictions typically followed during street sweeping season will be followed. So, starting tomorrow, we ask that vehicles be removed from the roadway in accordance with the posted schedule in your specific area of Oakmont. Moving the vehicles will help the Street Department to clean the roadways from curb to curb.

Additionally we recognize there is a great deal of snow blocking driveways. Because of the volume of snow that we experienced in our area, our crews have no alternatives for the placement of snow. There is no control of the snow once it exits the plow.

However, residents can use this “hack” in this video link below as a preventive measure a homeowner can complete to solve the blocked driveway problem. (https://youtu.be/enivHpBPyDc?si=eQkHiz5e-bJoJ3Xx)

Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this storm and cleanup…it is much appreciated!!
