Fall Leaf Collection PSAs:
(1) Piling the leave as shown in the photo is the recommended way to help the Street Department vacuum the piles. Closer to the curb and higher saves time and wear on the vacuum arm. This is a different approach from when we used the pull-behind units and hand-raked leaves to the vacuum. It’s efficient and saves wear on the vacuum arm.
(2) Due to Thanksgiving shortening the week of November 24, the Street Department will make every attempt to vacuum the entire Borough by Wednesday afternoon regardless of the sweeping schedule. Be mindful of leaf pile locations and street parking; we can’t clear piles behind parked vehicles.
