Update from Oakmont Borough
SEVERE STORM UPDATE:

If ANY tree, outside the road right-of-way, has fallen and has wires entangled, only Duquesne Light Company (DLC) can remove the lines. Do not assume that a downed line is an unenergized line. Do not touch the tree or any wires that are down. Barricades are put up for your protection.

For downed trees on private property, we have a list of tree contractors who work in Oakmont. Please email frontdesk@oakmontborough.com for the list.

Sporadically, downed lines are becoming energized and therefore a serious matter. Oakmont VFD has been dispatched many times already for ‘Energized Lines’ and will continue to do so. We cannot emphasize enough about staying away from downed lines.

We are aware of downed trees with entangled wires blocking roadways into neighborhoods without a secondary access. DLC is aware based on our direct reports to them and those trees are on their list to render safe so the tree can be removed.

Hulton Road/ARB Viaduct: From PennDOT to us: DLC cannot provide a timeframe on opening either roadway due the extensive power grid destruction that needs repaired. With that information, plan on alternate routes for at least the next 2-3 days.
