Storm information update:
We do not know when power will be restored to parts or all of the community, neither does Duquesne Light. Those with power-based medical assistance in their home (breathing equipent, for example) should call 911 for assistance when needed.
Hulton Road is completely closed off to through traffic between 5th and 9th Streets. Residents who live in neighborhoods off of Hulton Road should use alternate ways to come and go.
Firsthand viewing of the damage on Hullton Road in that area indicates Duquesne Light will be there for quite some time to restore power as well as the other utilities on those poles.
In general, it seems that many are relying on their mobile service carrier for accessing the Internet and other things. Service does seem to be lagging quite a bit for most carriers. 
The Oakmont Carnegie library is closed. The Borough building is open to walk in assistance only. We have no phone service or Internet service. 
BJ Tree Service has been contracted to assist the Borough with tree cleanup.
Please honor the barricades and find another way to complete your route. On the rare instance where a barricade is moved to access a residence, please put the barricade back to prevent others from trying to drive through challenging situations.
