Monica Shields, the proud owner of the beloved goats of Capricious LLC, has announced that Emmy Lou, an Alpine/Savannah goat, is expecting twins! Emmy Lou is the sister to Tanner that has been working in Oakmont for two summers, eating overgrown vegetation along the riverbanks of the Edgewater sub-division.
Due in March, Emmy Lou, known for her white coat and her love of bleating around the farm, is ready to bring even more joy to the flock. Emmy Lou’s unique mix of Alpine and Savannah traits means the twins could inherit some interesting characteristics. As an Alpine goat, Emmy Lou’s milk-producing ability is exceptional, and she’ll be passing on those heavy milking genes to her little ones. The Savannah breed brings a robust, muscular build, typically used for meat, making for an intriguing combination in the family!
The farm is eagerly awaiting the arrival of these little ones, and asked for your help naming the new “kids”.
