Code Enforcement/BIU of PA
Building Inspection Underwriters of PA, Inc. (BIU) issues all of our Permits. If you have questions, they can be reached at 412-766-2565. If you have picked up your Permit and have questions or need to schedule inspections please contact BIU. All information will be inside the information packet with you Permit Placard.

Applying for a Permit
When a residential permit is necessary, you will bring the completed application to the Borough office, located at 767 Fifth Street, Oakmont, PA 15139. Once received, the permit will be date stamped and put in the bin for BIU to pick up. Once BIU approves the permit it will be returned to the borough office and processed in. We will contact you to let you know that the permit is ready to be picked up. Payments can only be made with check. Make checks payable to BIU
Oakmont Borough works together with BIU – Building Inspection Underwriters, aka BIU for most of our permitting, inspection and code enforcement needs. All building permits and inspections are completed by BIU.
