Oakmont Borough Leaf Collection – What to Know

LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2026<br> Please rake leaves to the curb and not into the street. The placement of leaves in the street is a safety hazard, it blocks parking, and can clog storm drains.<br> Vehicles blocking access to leaves will result in leaves not being picked up.<br> Remove any large branches from leaf piles and put them into yard waste bins.<br> Yard waste will be collected until December 30, 2026, by Shank Waste Service. As a reminder, do not overfill or pack leaves into your bin, this may cause damage to the trucks and the bins.<br> If leaves are not out at the curb when the leaf truck comes through, you will have to wait until the next pick-up.<br> The leaf collection crew cannot be dispatched nor is there an exact time or day when leaves will be collected. Leaf collection is determined by the amount of leaves collected, weather conditions, and other factors.</p> <p>The leaf crew strives to make sure that all leaves are picked up by the end of the season.

Third Annual Blessing of the First Responders

Flyer for the Third Annual Blessing of the First Responders on October 18, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Oakmont. The flyer invites the community to a prayer service, meet first responders, and explore their vehicles.

The Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church invites the community to its Third Annual Blessing of the First Responders on Sunday, October 18, at 12:30 p.m.

Following a short prayer service, guests can meet Oakmont and Verona first responders, ask questions, and explore their vehicles. Children from the parish and surrounding community are warmly invited.

The event will be held at 12 Washington Avenue, Oakmont, PA 15139.

Transformer failure near the intersection of Ann Street and Cedar Way may be causing some of the power outages in some areas Oakmont at the moment.

We don’t have any information about power being restored at this time
